Chinese, Qing period, standing 9 inches, yellow stone with veins of dark blue. Kuan Yin is the Bodhisattva of Compassion, “he who hears the cries of the world” and is known as Guan Yin or Kuan Shi Yin (Guanshiyin) in Mandarin, Kun Yum in Cantonese, Kannon in Japanese, and Avalokitesvara in Sanskrit. Approximately 100 years old. Kuan Yin holds the bottle of long-life dew in a classic standing pose, and is intricately carved with flowing robes.
